U23 World Championships
U23 World Rowing Championships - St. Catharines, Canada
Last week, two of our talented athletes, Holly Youd and Rachel Bradley, proudly represented GB at the U23 World Rowing Championships.
Holly Youd competed in the Women’s Pair (W2-) alongside her trials partner, Anna Grace (DUBC). The duo kicked off the week strong with a second-place finish in their heat, securing a spot in the A final. With even more speed to find, they delivered a stunning performance in the final, leading from start to finish and capturing the gold medal—becoming world champions!
Rachel Bradley competed in the Women’s Double Sculls (W2x) with Poppy Baker (Nottingham Rowing Club). After placing 4th in both their heat and repechage, they advanced to the B final, where they finished strong in 2nd place, securing an impressive 8th overall.
We are incredibly proud of Holly and Rachel and can’t wait to see what they achieve next as they continue their journeys with us at Newcastle, both enrolled in master’s programs.
