After both squads competed at Women's Eights Head of the River and Eights Head of the River Races, this marked the end of NUBC's Head Racing Season. Overall, it was an impressive display of the club's depth and performance. Members contributed both on and off the water, helping to organise and compete at Tyne Single Scullers Head. Gwilym Johnson won the U23 category at Scullers Head on the Tideway, then went on to win the Men's Pair won in the U23 Pairs Category at November Trials alongside Edward Ridley.
Rutherford Head was the first Head Race where the whole club took part, with wins in the Open Coxed Four & Women's Coxless Four categories. BUCS Head was another chance to demonstrate the depth of each squad, coming away with two gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
To conclude head racing season, the women's squad placed 19th, 60th, 94th, 160th & 279th at Women's Eights Head of the River, and the men's squad placed 25th, 54th, 91st, 154th & 339th at Eights Head of the River.
Following strong performances throughout the season, both squads now turn their focus to regatta racing, preparing for BUCS regatta, Henley Women's Regatta, Henley Royal Regatta and more.
