Women’s First Eight

Last weekend, one week after International Women’s Day, NUBC’s Women’s Squad took to the Tideway to race at the largest Women’s Rowing Event in the world. Boating five eights which raced the Championship Course, the Boat Club competed against other clubs and universities from around the country.

Newcastle’s first eight placed 20th, the second eight placed 63rd, the third eight placed 98th, the fourth eight placed 165th and the fifth right placed 287th.

These results reflect the depth in the squad, with over 40 athletes racing at the weekend. NUBC no looks forwards to HORR next weekend, where the Men’s Squad will also be boating five eights.
