BUCS Head 2026 was a chance for NUBC to display some of the hard work put in over the winter period. Coming away with 6 medals, 2 gold, 2 silver & 2 bronze; NUBC successfully challenged other universities on the home turf.

Barely missing out on medals, our Women’s Championship Double “B”, Women’s Championship Coxless Four, Women’s Championship Lightweight Coxless Four & Open Championship Eight all came fourth, and the Women’s Championship Double “A”, Women’s Intermediate Eight “A”, Open Championship Coxless Four “A” & Women’s Championship Coxed Four all came fifth.

In the coxed fours, the Open Intermediate Coxed Four “A” placed 6th, and the “B” crew placed 18th & the Women’s Intermediate Coxed Four placed 12th. Other key results saw our Open Intermediate Eight “B” placing 11th out of 32 crews, Women’s Intermediate Eight “B” placing 12th out of 33 crews, & Open Intermediate Eight “C” placing 30th and beating two men’s crews, despite the crew being entirely made up of our Women’s fourth eight!
On the Sunday, the Women’s Championship Pairs placed 11th and 14th, and the Women’s Championship Doubles places 4th and 5th. The Open Championship Pair “B” placed 11th.
The Novice Rowers made their mark as well, with the Open Beginners Eight placing 14th out of 18 crews, and the Open Beginners Coxed Four placing 5th out of 18 crews. The Women’s Beginners Eight placed 14th out of 20 crews, and the Women’s Beginners Coxed Four placed 13th out of 23 crews.
With BUCS head behind us, NUBC turns to preparations for WeHORR in two weeks, and HORR in four weeks.
